Bath

After a ten hour flight, I met up with my study abroad group in  London! Once we had all 18 of us  were able  to make the Drive to the small  village of  Burton.  To keep us from having too much jet lag,  we made our way to Bath for the evening to walk around and eat. After a long day of travel it felt good to move around,

Thursday

Lacock Abbey

First full day in England! From around nine in the morning to eight in the evening, I was able to wander around Lacock Abbey. Our group wandered the halls that Harry Potter was filmed in and ate ice creak where Downtown Abbey roamed. It was significant to us as that is where Henry Talbot was able to start his photographic process which led to the modern photography we know today. The tour through his home gave us insight to what his life looked like and his darkroom was an incredible place to explore.

Friday

Clifton + Castle Combe

Second day and Jet lag hit everyone. We took the morning slow and many of us felt as if we had been hit by a truck. So we moseyed our way to the observatory to use their Camera Obscura and explore their cave.  From there we drove to the Castle Combe Village to wander and create more work. It was a beautiful evening  filled with happy greens and cobblestone.

Saturday

Arrive to London

Check out time was 10am but we were out by 9am! Our two vans split up to cover two different spots of interest, mine being Richmond to see the bar in Ted Lasso.  It made for a good lunch and we strolled around town before making it to our place in London. Once in the big city, I had purchased ticked for me and Bri to see Phantom of the Opera and it was incredible. Musical Theatre fills my heart and it was the perfect way to kick off London.

England

This is my second time in London but it's been seven years since I was last here! I figured now that I am a responsible adult, it was time to explore a bit more. I loved all the placed I was able to see both as a big group and broken down into smaller groups.

Highlights

As many know, Wicked is my all time favorite Musical/Play to see. I have seen it live seven times now which I thought was a lot until I met a guy who has seen it 60+ with 16 different Elphabas. Wild. It was incredible as usual and made my heart so happy.

WICKED

After a long day spent in the National Art Museum and National Portrait Gallery, the larger group of eighteen split into smaller groups to create work where they wanted to. My pick, Big Ben from the opposite side of the river. It was perfect. There were so many people and so much to create I loved it.

Another day of Museums and exploring! Our first stop was the Tate Britain Museum which had some incredible as well as more out there artwork but the Victoria and Albert museum stole my heart. There was so much to see and I could spend all day there learning about all they had. Side note : Five stars for the Museum Cafe.
