Rebrand! Woot Woot! Though it was time to make the switch instead of constantly saying I'll redo things when I have the time. Turns out, there will never be the time I need, I just had to make time.

SO! What can you expect? Well, I am hoping to journal and document more of my photography journey and have more to look back on. Whether it is written or video form, I want to have something to revisit and see where I have come from.

Nothing will be perfect and I am sure there will be plenty of errors but anything worth doing, is worth doing poorly when you start that way you can get better.

I can't wait to bring you along on my journey!!

My Start

2016

I started using a point and shoot camera to document my family's trip to Sweden to watch my brother play in the Youth World Cup! I fell in love with photography and athletics on this trip and knew I wanted to buy my own camera.

2018

First paid shoot! My brother's best friend asked me to take his senior photos and gave me $50!

A couple months later and I took photos of my first wedding!

2020

Covid hits and I graduate!

Luckily by now I have collected some clientele and it really got me thinking this could be my Job if I work hard enough.

2021

Business is booming but I put it all on hold to serve and LDS Mission in Argentina. It was hard to pause life to teach about Jesus Christ but it was worth it and continues to make an impact on my life.

2024

After working for Utah Tech athletics I make the move up north and start working for UVU Athletics.

Business has tripled from before my mission and I am seeing the beauty of my job more and more.

This video was used as a commercial and aired nationally!

what I Learned along the way

Connections are everything

Whether you are going to work with that person one time or see them once a month for the rest of your life, make a connection with them, learn their name, and be a friend.

Recently I was talking with a potential client that didn't end up booking with me. Of course it's a bummer but because of our communication and  how I messaged her after she went a different way, she continues to refer me to other people.

Yes, your work is important and you are talented, but have you built connections that last?

CONSISTENCY is key

Post, share and chat with the people around you regularly, this helps you to stay relevant and continuously book. While texting people back in a timely manner is not one of my strengths, I have noticed that putting in the extra effort to be consistent and timely helps my relationships and shoots run smoother.

competition limits collaboration.

read that again.

When I first started I was so competitive in my business, trying to make sure someone booked with me or used my images over someone else's in order to build my clientele and business. It was exhausting. When I took the time to build my confidence and run my own business and work with others I noticed I grew, had more success, and my circle grew.

Being a team player, making photo friends, and collaborating with others has ultimately made me better in my craft and. allowed for creativity to flow more. Whenever I start to feel my competitive side come out I remember to slow down and remember that I do this out of my love for photography and not the money.

set boundries

As a workaholic and people pleaser it has always been hard for me to set work hours and boundaries for a business that is also my whole world. I used to take calls at 10pm, step away from social gatherings to pull an image into photoshop and stay up until 3am editing a gallery. When I finally set hours of work and play and let myself say no to things, I was able to work more creatively and fall in love with photography even more!

2025? Whats next?
